About The Book

46 students, two chaperones, and the driver were on that bus. Adam, the boy Sabrina promised to love forever was the only fatality, and she had picked their seats. Sabrina still hasn’t moved on.

Sabrina’s existence has become a shrine to the life they never got to have. Then everything begins to unravel after she’s discovered sleeping at Adam’s grave by her co-worker, Clay. He persuades Sabrina to join his grief support group.

Does she have a choice? How many parents would entrust their kids to a teacher who sleeps in a cemetery? Her stance softens when she learns Clay’s story and hears from other group members. Loss is personal, but it’s not exclusive.

Meanwhile, Dr. MacManus, the new school superintendent, labels Adam’s memorial “a painful reminder of a tragic accident,” and has it removed. He also pressures Sabrina to relocate to one of the district’s middle schools, so he can give her position to another teacher.

When Sabrina questions the timing of these events, her confrontation with Dr. MacManus uncovers secrets with the power to destroy lives.

‘Everything in Between’ explores guilt, grief, loss, and our ability to survive, overcome and move forward.
